PARENTS GET REAL WITH MEDIA MANIA!
The best things about my April workshops is that several usually fall during the national Screen-Free week sponsored by the Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood (www.commercialfreechildhood.org). So voluntarily, families are already trying to live more in the real world than the virtual world. They are choosing healthy options like board games and walks in the park or neighborhood. But, they are also frustrated by how hard it seems. They love coming together in the workshops and sharing information and ideas. But, what they love most is when I bring my own kids! Because they are teenagers now, with a car, girlfriends, jobs, sports, band, etc., I am not always able to get them to come speak.

This past week, I was fortunate to have Scott with me. When the kids speak, I don’t have to say anything! Scott told parents at Nottingham West Elementary School in Hudson, NH– “I would definitely raise my own kids this way!”
